Space Needle was created during the post-covid reopening of Seattle. Whalien wanted to express the frustration felt by many people who were made to feel like they were worthless to a capitalist system. Thus the chorus, “sacrifice, sacrifice”.
Through a country-rock lens, Whalien is able to tell this tale with a radio-friendly, sweet, sugary flavor.
