BABYFACE RAY AND EMPIRE ANNOUNCE LABEL PARTNERSHIP + DROP NEW SONG & VIDEO

Babyface Ray has announced a label partnership with his label Wavy Gang and EMPIRE. The deal allows for the Detroit artist to sign and develop talent, including his first signings, Samuel Shabazz and Rally. The announcement comes on the heels of Ray’s first RIAA Certified Gold Record for “Ron Artest” ft. 42 Dugg. Signed to Empire in 2019, the partnership between Wavy Gang and EMPIRE was a natural step forward. Ray notes of the deal:

“I appreciate the partnership with Empire. We have been partners for the last couple of years and I’m excited for the next chapter with them & my label Wavy Gang Entertainment. I appreciate the team over there. Ghazi, Nima, Tina, Ari and everyone who has had an impact on my career. It’s time to embark on this chapter.”

CEO and Founder of EMPIRE Ghazi adds: “Me and Ray locked in 7 years ago. I watched him build his career brick by brick. I’m honored to further our partnership together. His trajectory is limitless. Wavy Gang for life.”

To celebrate the partnership, Ray has released the latest installment of Face Fridays, a new series in which he releases a new song every week. Today, watch the video for new song “Glory,” a timely track about giving thanks and putting in the work.

Ray, who has seen his star rise quickly on the national level after being a celebrity in his city for nearly a decade, has been prolific, dropping two albums just last year in Summer’s Mine and M.O.B, both who received year-end honors. Ray’s influence extends throughout the city, impacting the emerging talent in Detroit, which now boasts some of the nation’s most sought-after and beloved rappers. The recent success has brought sold-out national tours, an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Million Dollaz Worth of Game, features in GQ, Rolling Stone, Complex, Interview Magazine, and more, along with cosigns from Pusha T, Future, Tyler The Creator, Lil Durk, Big Sean and admiration from NBA and NFL stars alike.
