Today, Palestinian-Algerian artist, Saint Levant, unveils his latest single, “Galbi,” via Universal Arabic Music. The track, produced by Abdelah Messous, is a harmonic fusion of English, French and Arabic, set against a backdrop of warm instrumentation accentuated by violin and percussion. “Galbi” showcases Saint Levant’s skill in blending musical influences, weaving together North African melodies and soft Afrobeats into a catchy pop song that explores themes of love and longing. Saint Levant reflects on the bittersweet experience of leaving things behind, a sentiment that resonates with his own experience of exile. “‘Galbi’ is about lost love, and about not forgetting the beautiful days you’ve spent with someone. In exile we have to leave things behind,” he says.
Fresh off his impactful performance at Coachella, where he dedicated his set to the people of Gaza and championed social activism, Saint Levant is poised to grace the stage at New York City’s Governors Ball this June, further solidifying his position as a rising star in the international music scene.
