You can learn a lot from another country’s text books, by Davin Michael Stedman

You can learn a lot from another country’s text books. If you see the propaganda here, but it doesn’t trigger the alarms of propaganda we swallowed in 7th grade, then there might be a problem.

It’s hard to find a leader without blood on their hands once they finally reach Head of State. The only question is how much blood was on their before and who owns the blood you’re covered with after.

In America, the man with the cleanest hands was Jimmy Carter. So they ran his ass out and used propaganda to paint such a man as a feckless leader. Which history shows more each year was not the case. He was an anomaly elected by a disillusioned nation after the epic shame spiral and collapse that was Richard Nixon.

As for this picture let’s just gloss over Castro, and commend them for depict the depiction of Toussaint and give them a pass for not portraying his black skin.

Toussaint had a lot of blood on his hands but he is fascinating because he didn’t actually want to slaughter the White Planters and French aristocrats in Haiti as others did as they bucked off the chains of their masters.

Blood is blood, but in times of turmoil, the best and worst men emerge. I want to say women, but I don’t want to put that kind of evil on the ladies without examples of warrior queens of the 1800s to cite that machete’d or machine gunned thousands of innocents as some of our most revered men in relatively recent history have done.

Nanny here in Jamaica certainly killed her share of Englishmen. And she is on the money.

Bustamante is another fascinating character. Almost White. Best borrowed name ever. Knocked it from an Irishman. Could have passed for a White Banker in any Klan controlled town in 1920s America.

Bustamante helped create Jamaica. But as Rastas will tell, you and I should research more carefully,

He allegedly told his police to shoot Rastas on sight.

But let us look deeper before we pass judgement on these men.

But as this page of one child’s history book proves, the victors write the history books. And more often than not today in every Country, including China and Russia, the victor I’d the Corporations. Whether state controlled or multinational. Their concern, as is the pattern of Capitalism, not with trouble of democracy.

A harsh lesson of today is that there is great success in two paths that lead to Fascism. Russia and China are using centralized and focused collective power to build massive global corporations.

The other is in western countries as seen in the Citizen’s United ruling is the state of America where bribery is legalized and codified all the way through each branch of Government, and a flipside of Fascism rules, where a series of factions acting as Corporations act as Pirates that rule the Government, thus We The People.

…and the idea that a country with a McDonald’s will be never drop a bomb on a McDonald’s will be tested until the ashes and bone of the few employees left to operate inside those new temples of automation are left to die. Until it is another corporation’s argument for automation.

Fascism is an economic system in which the government controls the private entities that own the factors of production.

But there is Fidel.

If History was easy, there would be no pathway to machete towards the coup of bloody Revolution.

There is not even a Left or a Right. Not really. Only power and what people will do to attain it. To maintain it. To get it back. And reimagine how they got it.

It is rarely given away because there is always a price tag attached, whether it is pension or the comforts of exile.

Politics is only the art of what is possible, and what is always possible is that people will lie. That is their truth. The truth and path to power rarely meet. And when they do, there will be blood.
