Jamaica Day 10: Producer Peeling a Grapefruit, Jah T and Bull, by Davin Michael Stedman

A producer peeling a grapefruit with a giant knife just told me the greatest story I have ever heard about how his father and his best friend were growing marijuana in mountains back when he was a child.

They rigged a brilliant escape route where they made a hidden slide down the mountain that they hid skillfully. At the bottom was a swing to the next mountain side of the dense Jamaican jungle.

When the soldiers finally found them his father walks casually, acting like any other banana farmer. He plays it cool and non chalantlmy says to friend,

“_____, where is the Watta?”

That is the signal for their great Afro-Indiana Jones escape. They bolt down the slide to the shock of the soldiers then swing to the next mountain side and cut the rope, and like great spies already in disguise, mix in with banana farmers and dissapear.

Two weeks later they return and find 1/4 of the field has not been burned. So they harvest it quickly and hide in a hut.

But in the next twist, a local steals their crop from the hut!

The rest of the story is something I prefer he tell as it involves machete duels straight out of Pirate tales and a boldness reserved for true heroes and anti-heroes, and slingshots!

Pirates are still alive in the Caribbean!

I maybe a writer. But this is not my story. But I am happy to promote great storytellers.

Green & Gold!

☆ Not sure if I should add his photo but…for right now behold this moment in time. Great producer!
