The Waterboys – Red Army Blues

When I posted the recent song “St. Helena” by Standing Before Kings I was reminded of this song as they both find great lessons in history and deserve to be listened to. One thing I didn’t remember about this song was the WICKED sax parts, which compete with the Sike Furs “Pretty in Pink” for best of the eighties. Thus I commend this to you. Listen and cry. Remember the embarassment of creative riches which washed over us in the Eighties. (Also, just as a reminder: 25 million citizens of the USSR died in the Second World War. In contrast, only 418,500 Americans died in the same war.)
