Let Them Eat Yellow Cake, by Dylan Van Keef

In the wake of the latest school shooting in Kentucky, a Wild West shoot out between student and teachers is not far away. No matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, we are all living in that kind of America.

Theories that having more guns will keep us safe are going to be tested whether we like it or not. Though who would ‘like it’ per say, is of questionable moral fiber.

If Kentucky state lawmakers determine that all the teachers should be packing, let’s let the State’s decide if kids over 13 should be packing as well. With parental consent of course.

But I propose that it’s all open carry, and everyone has their hand gun on their desk, with the safety on of course. Safety first for heaven’s sake. If a student or teacher prefers a rifle, we should have easily accessable gun racks replace coat racks.

But remember equal rights. If your state allows open carry for student, teachers, visitors, janitors, etc., these rules must also apply to all so called ‘Urban schools’. Lets put euphism aside for a brief moment:

‘Urban Schools’ in White speak is code for segregated Black schools. PC terms such as ‘urban’ help us obscure how America successfully circumvented Brown vs The Board of Education, without offending anyone directly.

Furthermore if a kid, regardless of ethnicity or economic circumstance, cannot afford a licensed firearm, we should have discounts available for disadvantaged youth and their families. No kid should go hungry or lack proper artillery in the classroom or at youth sporting events. This will also create jobs by increasing the demand for brand new guns, specially designed for the needs of young teens.

More guns, more good kids with guns, makes a safer America.

Crossing Guards? Regardless of age they need to be packing serious heat. Those kids are on the front lines of stranger danger and driving while texting.

Cheerleaders? How about make firearms a part of your routines and demonstrate gun safety through the art of dance and your commitment to school spirit?

The years and lives and jobs we have wasted keeping guns out of children’s hands.

Open carry at schools will simply save a lot of money, because metal detectors will not be necessary. But for insurance purposes we need more cameras to determine who shot first and whether head shots were intentional or just ricochet.

Note From the Author, Dylan Van Keef

We as liberals should not be afraid to read the article below about the school gun clubs that disappeared from public schools as we were kids and school shootings began to tick up to fury.

We can handle the spin. You lose a culture war if you ignore the recent history of your culture.

I am a liberal, pro 2nd Amendment with considerable regulations, and the post above, “Let Them Eat Yellow Cake” is parody in the tradition of Swift.

But liberals cannot sweep the detail of school gun clubs away.

Nor can we underestimate the fragmentation of our mental health and the impact mass media and now social media has had on making mass murder a sort cheat code to fame, in a country that is obsessed with whoring fame that is now just infamy.

If a decay of religious values has occurred in this country it has been from the top down, as evidenced by Catholic Church cover ups of crimes by priests and the right-wing Evangelical will to justify every one of Trump’s demonic indiscretions with the miracle of forgiveness, even if he truly isn’t asking for it beyond the lip service of long con.

Yes we have a problem with our culture, but the decay has hit our tax exempt religious organizations like termites.

Gun Clubs at School: The notion of schools as “gun-free zones” flies in the face of history.
