Digital = Death, by Davin Michael Stedman

To be honest, I do not think social media is good for humankind. The internet had a chance to inform us, but this world has us in a tiny box where we fight like giant fire ants. This is mass manipulation and coercion on the grandest scale.

…and for What? For What? To sell more things? We already had things. Sure you can opt out but this is a vast monopoly. These are your connections to so many people so close and so far away. And without those connections, doesn’t it seem like they or just you will slowly disappear? Well that’s what we think.

Out of sight out of mind.

Dunbar’s number says we can have only 150 stable relationships at one time with other people. I think maybe our lack of empathy and narcissism is shrinking that number until we no longer even have a stable relationship with ourselves. For What? So we can replace those numbers with brands and characters and people that we love to hate?

We never been so connected yet disconnected from ourselves. Distraction from our conscience, that quiet voice of guilt and reason is quite an attraction.

But the entertainment today is top notch. It’s an embarrassment of riches. No one wants Nuclear War until we see how Game of Thrones ends.

Kim Jong-un and Trump both want to see what happens to those Dragons. But they are the dragons. The absolutely worst kind of dragons.
