A Plea For Thoughtful Compromise, By Gordon Jack Schultz

When you lose the ability to make distinctions in a world of greys, you enable those who see things as black and white to win. When it has to be all or nothing, you end up with nothing. These are self-fulfilling prophecies and only lead to more cynicism. We must make choices in the real world between forces of relative good or of lesser and greater evil. If you can’t have perfection and therefore reject compromisers, you destroy politics and any possibility for change.
