When this unreleased 1975 concert of Richard & Linda Thompson at their prime was released on CD a few years back, you’d have thought that Mojo, Uncut, etc – would have pulled out all of the stops and given it the fanfare that it deserved. Sadly, there was yet another Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, Neil Young cover story to be done, utyso, this wonderful 15 song concert with Dave Mattacks on drums, Peggy on bass and John Kirkpatrick just sort of vanished. Besides the obligatory 14 minute “Calvary Cross”, there’s an 11 minute “Night Comes In” and an 8 minute “For Shame of Doing Wrong” – sublime, yet deadly.
