“One of SUNMI’s strengths has always been her artistic flexibility, and unwillingness to be shackled to any one style for too long. […] ‘Heart Burn’ and ‘Childhood’ are a sharp change of direction, tugging you towards light-drenched yet bittersweet, summery pop.”
– Vogue UK

“The reputable superstar continues to find new methods to break ground with her empowering hits and now manages to use both her influence and artistry to be a voice for many. “
– Vanity Teen

K-pop megastar SUMNI has made a stunning comeback with two brand new singles, “열이올라요 (Heart Burn)” and “풋사랑 (Childhood).” Alongside the release, she has shared a music video for “Heart Burn,” a bubble-gum pop number decked out with synths and heart-pounding basslines. Throughout the visual, SUNMI travels through time, catching the eye of a new lover in each setting she enters. As it turns out, though, this eye-catching vixen has a deadly streak.

Speaking on “Heart Burn,” SUNMI writes: “‘Heart Burn’ is a single that depicts a hot midsummer love story.”

At the age of 16 in 2007, SUNMI debuted in the music industry as a member of the girl group Wonder Girls and received a lot of love as a national girl group with mega hits such as “Tell Me” and “Nobody.”

SUNMI stood out as a solo artist as well when she released her two songs “24 Hours” and “Full Moon” in 2014. She was also loved so much as a unique female musician with the whole package as Wonder Girls transformed into a band and released the albums REBOOT and Why so lonely. In particular, SUNMI received credits for participating in writing songs and lyrics and as a visual director when Wonder Girls made a comeback.

The first single “Gashina,” released after joining MakeUs Entertainment (currently ABYSS COMPANY) in 2017, was remarkably successful while SUNMI craze has swept across. Afterward, whenever she released her songs such as “Heroine” (2018), “Siren” (2018), “Noir” (2019), “Lalalay” (2019), “pporappippam” (2020), “Tail” (2021), and “You can’t sit with us” (2021), SUNMI succeeded in making them mega hits and has since been the one and only unrivaled female solo artist. Especially, after releasing the mini-album WARNING in 2018, she has continuously participated in the album work as a producer to present her own music style.

Widening her musical spectrum, SUNMI has also been releasing and featuring different projects. In 2021, she featured in Ed Sheeran’s “Shivers” (2021). In 2022, she released songs including “Oh Sorry Ya” (2022), being the representative of Asian artists of a first-ever EQUAL X Spotify Singles project, and “Fellowship” (2022), an introduction song of Sunmiya Club OST of her NFT project. Moreover, she successfully held her first world tour, ‘2019 SUNMI THE 1ST WORLD TOUR [WARNING]’ as a solo artist. As all the tickets for SUNMI’s first world tour, which took place in 19 regions around the world, including Asia, North/South America, and Europe, were sold out, she proved herself again as a K-POP Queen. SUNMI will soon be holding her second world tour in 2022.
