Pax Europa – The Fog of Peace, by Davin Michael Stedman

Greenwood has been under the strangest fog all day. As I rolled in a 3 pm, fog was rolling down the street like a British ghost. My first thought was,

“why hasn’t the fog burned off? Where is Watson when I need him?”

In Everett the air and sky was crisp and cool.

My budtending partner in crime is playing a Yoga playlist that is making everything more cinematic and ominous.

Pax Europa means Peace in Europe. It will end.

I am trying to experience as much of it as I can before it is done. The rise of Nazism in Eastern Europe is a f☆cking problem. The fact we have Nazis running around America is a f☆cking problem.

But I’ll see the Continent once more before bombs start dropping again. Not to sound morbid, but Trump is accelerating the inevitable like a drunk driver on fentanyl laced with Meth.

On a lighter note I miss my English mates dearly, I do say in a put on British accent. I wish I could make our first Bedlam Isle show. They asked me if they could sing some of my songs without me, and I said by all means.

Isn’t that the dream of a songwriter? That people want to play your songs, and play on your songs, so that they may shine on brighter and longer than one’s own light within?

So in this strange London Fog that descended on Seattle today and is still yet unfolding, here is an eerie new Bedlam Isle hook on a subject that has haunted me.

On a 45 minute swim last night, which is my version of meditating and being perfectly still, I decided I would let my subconscious start working on a Brit Pop tune for the boys, plus Roxanne Abbott and Lou Johnson.

I told myself to write ‘Pax Europa’, and less than 18 hours later I did.

I only had a ten minute break, but that’s all I need.

Lewis HardingAlex RobertsScott Rowe may we share the stage this Summer. I just have sneak my way onto the BBC via Kingston Road.

Off to the gym to look like a real lead singer.
