Picking NFL Week 4, by Ron Swanson

RIP George Blanda
Well, I was a rather poor 6-10 vs. the spread last week. We’ll see if I can do any better this time around. Lines are from Danny Sheridan’s USA link and are accurate as of Wed. PM. Home teams are in caps.

TENNESSEE 6 1/2 Denver

The Titans pass D is playing well and the Broncos are having trouble finding the end zone. Titans by 7.

PITTSBURGH 1 1/2 Baltimore

Should be extremely physical. The Steelers D is playing very well and the Ravens running game isn’t. Pittsburgh in this one.

Cincinnati 3 CLEVELAND

The Browns ran the ball well against the Ravens, but the Bengals have their number. Cincy on the road.

GREEN BAY 14 1/2 Detroit

An angry Packers team at home is not good news for the Lions. GB big.

NEW ORLEANS 13 1/2 Carolina

Not a good situation for a rookie QB this week. The Saints should have things their way.

ATLANTA 6 1/2 San Francisco

Last chance for the 49ers to get on track. They should be able to keep this one close.

Seattle 1 ST LOUIS

If Steven Jackson plays, the Rams have a chance. Otherwise, the Seahawks should be too much.

NY Jets 5 BUFFALO

30 points by the Bills last week, but it won’t happen in this one. Jets by at least 7.

Indianpolis 7 1/2 JACKSONVILLE

The Jags are not playing well and won’t get it going in this one. Colts.

Houston 3 1/2 OAKLAND

The Raiders passing game isn’t ready for this. The Texans should cover on the road.

SAN DIEGO 8 Arizona

The Chargers should have an easy time of it in this one.

PHILADELPHIA 6 Washington

It appears that Vick is for real. The Eagles by 7.

NY GIANTS 4 Chicago

The Giants have to cut down on mistakes and right now, the Bears are taking advantage of whatever is there. Bears on the road.

New England 1 MIAMI

The Patriots defense is not playing well and Miami’s is. Dolphins at home on Monday night.
