VICTORIA MONÉT DROPS NEW SUMMER ANTHEM “ON MY MAMA”

Multi-talented, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter and producer, Victoria Monét releases “On My Mama” today via Lovett Music/RCA Records. The new track is the latest addition to her catalog of 2023 summer anthem contenders and is the final track debut leading up to the release of her upcoming sophomore album, JAGUAR II.

Victoria’s “On My Mama” hits a home run by sampling the classic 2000s hip-hop Chalie Boy track, “I Look Good” while floating positive affirmations over blaring horns by Kyla Moscovich, smooth melodies, and an 808 and bass-heavy beat produced by Jamil “Deputy” Pierr and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman. “I put that on my own mama, on my hood, I look fly, I look good,” she sings. It’s an empowering song for people everywhere uplifting them to feel like the best version of themselves both inside and out.

“On My Mama is the soundtrack to positive affirmations!” says Monét. “Singing the lyrics about yourself will change your frequency and elevate a positive mental state. The words speak not only to physical features but to a feeling too because I believe when you feel good, you look even better! Give yourself the words you need to hear because it’s true – you look good! There’s no one like you and that’s on ya mama. Enjoy being yourself witcha fine ass!”

“On My Mama” is the 3rd single off JAGUAR II, and is the follow up to her most recent smash hits “Party Girls” ft. Buju Banton. The Sean Bankhead choreographed “Party Girls” music video garnered an incredible reaction to Victoria’s performance, leading to her trending for several days, hitting the YouTube Trending Top 15. “Party Girls” and “Smoke” ft. Lucky Daye both have garnered heavy praise from the likes of BillboardRolling StonePitchforkFlauntNylonHypebeastFLOOD Magazine, and more. All 3 singles mark the beginning of a new era for Victoria Monét, ending the long-awaited pause since her heralded 2020 solo project, JAGUAR.

After the initial JAGUAR era, Monét turned up the heat with a string of releases including collaborations featuring Kehlani (“Touch Me (Remix)”) and most recently, a Spotify single with Bryson Tiller (“We Might Even Be Falling In Love (Duet)”). Additional tracks “F.U.C.K” and “Coastin” built on the JAGUAR sound and emphasized its staying power with impressive visuals all set in Monét’s signature brown tones and 70s influences. She’s also gone viral on socials with the #SomeCutChallenge and currently with her open verse challenge for buzzing song “We Might Even Be Falling In Love”.

Monét’s breakthrough artistry led to appearances on The Late Night Show with Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’s #PlayAtHome + festivals such as Made In America, Sol Blume, and Day N Vegas.

Most recently, Monét sold out her first-ever headlining show in Los Angeles at the El Rey Theatre in partnership with Spotify and Goldenvoice – which sold out in under one minute – and will be participating in a fireside chat with fellow superstar Kelly Rowland at CultureCon LA on June 17th. As a new member of  RCA Records, much more music from the superstar is on the horizon as anticipation builds for the much-desired album JAGUAR II coming summer 2023.
