Erika Grapes surfaces from “Out Of Depth“

A couple of years ago during the start of the first lockdown I was in the lowest of moods and wrote a song about loneliness.”

Felix Subway

Erika Grapes has released ‘Out Of Depth’, a minimal song, just 1 minute and 59 seconds long, written by the English composer and musician Felix Subway produced by Italian producer Andrea Del Miglio (Anaté, The Confederation).

The initial idea was that of recording a duet with Felix Subway, but for logistical reasons the feat was postponed and the single, originally entitled “If the worst song” If the Worst Song was taken up by Grapes as unreleased, with the electronic arrangements of Del Miglio.

Andrea Del Miglio comments “The song worked very well with guitar and voice, so I tried to build a delicate arrangement that left the voice in the foreground, but that continuously “moved” in the background to make it interesting.”

“I immediately fell in love with ‘If The Worst Song’, a very sweet acoustic ballad composed and performed by Alfie Scheinman, aka Felix Subway, an artist and a dear friend whom I admire immensely.” adds Grapes “Alfie had proposed this song to me, still unreleased, several months ago. With the producer Andrea Del Miglio, with whom I collaborated for some of my most streamed singles, we tried to keep the magic and sweetness, adding the electronic touch that characterizes most of my previous releases. I would like it to become a sort of Christmas lullaby for people who are alone at this time of year and seek solace in music.”
