Singapore-based duo Palk aims at the synthesis of Organic tribal music, South Asian vibes and Electronica to create their signature sound.
Musicians Nisal and Mahesh make up the duo. The band name origins from Palk Strait, a strait between India and Sri Lanka, the two countries they can relate to the most.
Tharana is Palk’s first experiment in the synthesis of Organic music and South Asian sounds with Electronica.
The highlight of the track is the RAV Vast, a metal drum inspired by hand-pan which has a tranquil, hypnotic sound.
Synth and electric guitar are added along with randomized South Asian percussion and bells in a hypnotic slow paced mix.
