Abigail Killmeier Is an established actress with amazing shows like This is Us to her credit. For the last few years, she has been quietly writing, recording and releasing some great indie pop songs on the side under the name, Abigail Fierce. You can see some of her previous videos here.
Take a look at her recent, and quite excellent, video for her song, “I Miss You.” Note how her acting talent and experience enrich this video. Through facial expressions and wordless motions she’s able to communicate much more of the song’s backstory than most songwriters can hope for.
“”I Miss You” is a song about missing an ex,” says Ab Fierce, ”but as much as I missed her, I wanted to acknowledge the reasons why it didn’t work out too. I wrote and played all of the instruments on this track too, except for drums. One of my favorite creative choices about the song was the longing electric guitar riffs that I specifically used to convey the level of yearning that can only accompany a first love. I was super excited to see that this song landed on 5 Spotify Editorial playlists.”
Fierce has just released a song called, “Shallow Love,” which she says “is about being in love with someone for their personality and not for vain reasons such as looks, fame, fortune or followers. I wrote this song alone and played all of the instruments on the tracks. Most of the percussion comes from me tapping on my guitar or clapping.”
Killmeier has just finished filming “a cute family movie for Paramount+ and Nickelodeon called “Fantasy Football.” It stars Marsai Martin (from ABC’s Black-ish) and Kelly Rowland (from Destiny’s Child). It’s about a teen girl whose father is a professional football player and she learns she can control his moves on the field through the football video game, “Madden.” I play her best friend!”
Fierce also has some new music in the works and just signed with a sync company, so perhaps we will hear some of her music in the background of some commercials or shows soon.
