“The perfect duality of consumerism and people with nothing,” MOD SUN’s spectacular shopping cart musical elevates “Rich Kids Ruin Everything”

“There’s more to this world than what’s currently popular. I want kids to feel like it’s important to be visionaries not followers. A shopping cart represents the perfect duality of consumerism and people with nothing.” – Mod Sun

Continuing the pop-punk revival…Following MOD SUN’s 100 million+ streamed album Internet Killed The Rockstar last year (featuring partner Avril Lavigne) – he’s back today with a strong AF official video for “Rich Kids Ruin Everything” off his new album. #RKRE

Teaming up again with John Feldmann (5 Seconds of Summer, The Used, Panic At the Disco), MOD SUN explains the anthem: “I grew up a scene kid, a skateboarder and a pop punk kid…It’s both awesome and hilarious yet confusing seeing the general public and pop culture embracing all the things that I would get torn down for. This is a song that I wrote for all the kids who feel confident in their own skin…There’s more to this world than what’s currently popular. I want kids to feel like it’s important to be visionaries not followers.”

MOD SUN also co-wrote / co-produced tracks on Avril Lavigne’s latest album Love Sux (#2 on Billboard Top Album Sales Chart) & will be joining her Bite Me 2022 Canadian Tour in May. He recently gave a raw, unfiltered look at his life in the documentary Remember Me Just Like This, featuring friends & collaborators like Avril, Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker and Huddy. His feature film Good Mourning (co-wrote + co-directed with Machine Gun Kelly) is dropping later this year.

From his 2015 debut (Billboard #1) to this latest album, MOD has worked with some of the biggest names in music – G-Eazy, Nipsey Hussle, Travis Barker, Schoolboy Q, blackbear – to praise from Entertainment Weekly, Forbes, PAPER, NYLON & Billboard, who called him “Pop-Punk’s Go-To Songwriter.”
