Lina Sandell’s “Blott en dag” (Day by Day) – Sven Brengesjö, Maria Brengesjo

Here’s a rich, pensive, jazzy, new version– out less than a week– of the beloved Swedish hymn, “Blott en Dag” (English title, “Day By Day”) written by Carolina Sandell-Berg (or, as we used to call her in the old country of Chicago, where she has her own statue: Lina Sandell). The recording artist is Sven Brengesjö (last name is pronounced “Br-eh-ng-eh-shoe). The album title is, Vid Din Starka Hand (English title, By Your Strong Hand).

[According to Brengesjö, the picture above is from the Bohuslän archipelago, a popular Swedish kayak destination, where he and his family lived on the island of Hönö north of Gothenburg for seven years, a time of life when he paddled frequently.]
