Christmas Post: Brandi Carlile – Hallelujah, by Davin Michael Stedman

Santa I want to be Brandi Carlile next year. But also me. But also Brandi Carlile. Tune in at Noon on KING 5 on Christmas Day and see if I am already half way there.

Brandi is the best singer alive as far as I’m concerned. If there was a war of the vocalists to save Earth from a brutal alien poker game, I pick Brandi to drop the perfect vocal to save humanity on the first take.

I love her. Ever since the first time I heard her sing ‘Hallelujah’. Like what James Brown said about Sam Cooke, if I could sing like Brandi I wouldn’t have to dance.

A nurse came into the shop and I noticed she was from Brandi’s hometown. Same age. Every bit as beautiful. I looked up from her ID and said,

“If you went to school with Brandi she must have sang at talent shows and assemblies.”

“She did and when we heard her sing for the first time we asked each other, ‘where did this girl even come from’? What was she even doing in our little town?”

She was 1000% better than they could have even imagined.

“Star power” James Brown would say.
