More Than Ruins formed in Berlin in 2019. Songwriter/guitarist Charlie Grant and artist/vocalist Jule Escherhaus (Laina) met at a songwriting session and immediately clicked, writing what would become the group’s first release ‘Black Lines’ on the same day. Charlie played the song to producer/songwriter Ainsley Adams, who instantly loved it and decided to arrange and produce the track. The three transformed a sparse acoustic demo into something cinematic and atmospheric, discovering great chemistry and a shared love for dreamy, wide screen pop music in the process. More Than Ruins are currently writing more material, with further releases due for 2020.
