Jamaica Day 18: More Music Video Shoots, Brodie Nation, Riddims and Catchy Hooks, by Davin Micheal Stedman

Shooting music videos on the last day I am in Jamaica is quite an undertaking. Run and gun.

These are not my videos per say. I wrote and recorded some songs with a dancehall singer and a producer in Port Antonio. I couldn’t make it back there before I left so they came to me.

Lenni I-Music is driving. Ras Isachar came along. The locations sound cool as hell.

My 3rd trip to Jamaica is almost over. Just shot scenes for a couple music videos with pwile chile. Lenni I-Music was the driver. Ras Isachar was our Spiritual Advisor.

I did the best I could on this trip. And good things happened. This trip was about setting up some real big moves.

…and building the team.

I only did 500 push ups and I set out for 1000. But I didn’t expect to jog that much around Port Antonio and Kingston. I didn’t expect to swim so many times to Navy Island.

…and I didn’t expect to produce these songs with Pwile Chile and his mysterious producer that was really picking up what I was putting down. A Jamaican surfer at the genuine surfer bar we were shooting at today listened to, ‘Is This an Island, or is This a Prison’ and said we had the song he was dreaming about,

Rock & Roll guitar and beats with a Dancehall singer and riddims, and catchy hooks.

Yup. This recipe is Fyah.

Some amazing things happened this time. I haven’t quite processed it all. But I spent 15 months training for this. And it paid off.

Soon forward.
