APOLOGIES IF A VIDEO ISN’T AVAILABLE IN YOUR COUNTRY

1 Mavi Güneş 69 – Yafta (9)

Turkish psych folk that’s also got the funk, made for us and made for you. Listen or regret.

2  Taking On Time · Sinead O Brien (24)

Quite like this. Doubt many people will listen to it but if you like those DC Fontaines bods, this is in the same vein but much better.

3  Research Reactor Corp – Teenage Labrat (37)

The Sydney lo-fi punk scene is on fire at the moment. Saw RMFC in Newtown on Friday night and they sizzled their way through a 25 minute set. This lot are in the same vein. Touchstones are more the Fall and the Minutemen rather that the usual dull and drab punk sound. Considering there are no venues in Sydney at the moment the underground gig scene is in pretty rude health.

4  The Rhythm Method – Sex & The Suburbs (86)

New out on UK label Moshi Moshi absolutely loving this. Totally UK homemade disco that recalls the Streets & Dexy’s. Great stuff, total antidote to Brexit. Listen to this it’s wonderful.

5  Earthern Sea – Living Space  (111)

Clean, ambient, housey, dubby and just draws you in. This would be a wonderful way to start a set on a mutha of a soundsystem. Listen.

6  Kid & Khan – Goo Goo Muck (156)

Quite a few years old now but well worth a listen. Kid Congo teams up with NY producer, Khan for this quirky electronic version of the cramps classic and they do it proud.

7  Deijuvhs – Bust  (255)

London rapper previously daijvhs is back. We love his style. The vibe is totally different to the south of the river vibe. It tough and hard like London is and is getting increasingly so but always has that psychedelic feel about it. We hope at some point some gets what this guy does it’s totally original.

8 Retropxssy – Finchley Road (420)

New release on lamesfest (as above) and as above there’s nothing like this out there. Just listen and know what London sounds like at street level these days.

9 Vi-Vi – Vicious Games (471)

Who said electro was dead !  It’s got all the markers you love , ok its got all he markers we love !

10  Ramatou Traore  – Tu mens devant moi (711)

New out on Soundway, Afro disco workout with female french vocals. For BOP this is tingles down the spine stuff and we’ll be playing this for the next 3 months..love, love, love.

GRAHAM DOMAIN
LOVE & SADNESS . EP

There is something strangely magical about the weirdness of the musical world Graham Domain lives; a throwback to the days of the 80s when Japan and Black skirted around the regions of the hit parade; a soothing charade of yesterdays bedsit clothes and art school glamour songs to lose yourself in; to bathe in the afterglow of a pure sadness; an LP to soundtrack falling in and out of love to and an LP to fall in love with.

CRABS EP

We have here a delicious anti record shop release by nobody less than the Bordellos. Thank you The Bordellos! You are life savers!
YEAH I KNOW IT SUCKS

The Bordellos are making some of the best pop music I’ve heard, it’s just they’re doing it in such a wilfully obscure way you’ll never hear it.

Because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know.

We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.

But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don’t know we don’t know.
