Porcelain in a Plastic Factory: Nashville’s trouble with replicating the real thing, by Davin Michael Stedman

Brandi Carlile on Prarie Home Companion

I am going to leave this here. The Country Music Establishment has yet to embrace their greatest singer and one of their best songwriters because she is a Lesbian and will not play by their rules.

Her name is Brandi Carlile and she can sing circles around anybody that has been left on their charts or radio stations in decades.

It’s not about merit. If it was about Merit, the Country charts and radio stations would feature Black women from the greatest untapped talent pool Conservative America offers to Country music today:

The Black Church.

The women that would love to sing Country in that realm are actually conservative, but they are Black and our White Supremacy and segregation is so real and well established, we don’t even notice it.

But I do. Every damn day.

Keep on making fake rap with midi hand claps and hacky bros Nashville. I know they are biting Macklemore and Ryan Lewis in the whackest possible way.
