Meet Wyler, the Brit Who Recorded in East Portland and Loved it, by Davin Michael Stedman

If you’re on Facebook, please like Lewis Harding’s solo moniker Wyler. My English Brothers in Sherlock Soul (and our soon to be announced British collective, of which I am the token Yank) have this Romantic idea that they can masquerade behind these musical personas and cultivate new identities.

While I find it hard enough to garner my own legitimate name recognition, and I just wish I was able to promote them by their Government identities, I admire them for their muster and I respect their wishes.

Wyler is actually an awesome name, which vaguely refers to Wat Tyler, the martyred hero of an ill-fated but impactful English Peasant Revolt.

We don’t learn about such things in school, because it is far too relevant for the Ruling class. For if rent doubles one more time, there will be food riots, squating and looting by the hand of the once middle class.

They don’t teach you about the Red Summer of 1919, the New York City Draft riots, and the Diggers, and all the countless times white people have rioted like mad.

But the spirit of giving f☆ck all in the face of power and its’ paper dragon, is alive in the Ginger heart of Harding. For he is a thinking man, and a do’er. A fellow traveler and a friend. An ally to common men like you and I, who will not suffer fools so easily and will speak truth to power.

Meet Wyler.
