I will soon recap my 12/7 Showbox experience of see/hearing Peter Hook and band replicate UNKNOWN PLEASURES in its entirety, which was an unexpected highlight of my 2010.
By the by, as a birthday gift to myself I recently splurged on two of the many limited edition 10-inch eps released to commemorate Alan Vega’s 70th b’day a few years back.
The first, featuring both Bruce and Suicide doing "Dream Baby Dream" [Suicide’s version being from the infamous 1979 episode of THE MIDNIGHT SPECIAL curated by Ric Ocasek of The Cars], arrived a while ago.
But the main event, as it were, just showed up, via one of my ol’ pals from Shipping and Receiving and a store called Panda Panda Records in Osaka, Japan:
