Skåne-born guitarist Filippa Nässil laid the foundation for Thundermother in the Autumn of 2009. While originally based in Växjö where she was pursuing her studies, she later relocated to Stockholm in her quest to assemble a band.
In the early years the band had a number of lineup changes, but from 2012 the band solidified their collective talents for the next decade. However, in 2023, the band endured another member shuffle.
The band’s first two albums were released in 2014 and 2015. Nässil played lead guitar, wrote most of the song material and was the producer of the albums.
Since then they’ve toured with some of the best Hard Rock bands like: The Scorpions, KISS, Rose Tattoo, and others.
