Update on Famed Chicago Protestor, “The Sign Guy,” by Mark Erickson

The other day I received an email from the EPB Admin who advised, “The Farhad spike is still going on…It’s an 11-year-old post buried in a minor blog site, but it’s getting 1000 views every 30 days. Some people out there are obviously very curious about Farhad.”  I then realized I needed to provide an update!  Perhaps Farhad reads East Portland Blog!!

Since Lollapalooza a couple years ago, I have found myself in Farhad Khoiee-Abbasi‘s presence several times.  Like Lolla, he has shed the disheveled, homeless appearance, yet the signs remain of this International Man of Mystery.  His shoes appear new and he dresses for the weather.  First, on February 12, 2024, I saw him outside Union Station during my commute back home.  I gestured to Farhad; he saw me.  During the most recent, disastrous Democratic National Convention in Chicago, I peacefully protested with at least 12,000 other people whose primary purpose focused on Israel’s ongoing apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and extermination of Palestinians My Palestine Bookshelf, by Mark Erickson – East Portland Blog .  The Democrips and Killer Kamala opted to deny any and all platform time on this issue, and even on the platform itself.  Absolutely disgusting!!   (Despite the “ceasefire” brokered by President Trump, the killings of Palestinians continue, every day.)  As the massive, peaceful crowd neared the rally’s end point at a city park one block north of the United Center, Farhad appeared to me!  Yes, he had made a new Biden sign. I called out to Farhad, and he acknowledged my presence.  So, cognitively, The Sign Guy knows where people will see him-near the commuter rail station and at the end of a public demonstration!

My third Farhad sighting occurred at the first-ever No kings Rally.  Again, thousands of protestors gathered peacefully with signs, chants, enthusiasm, and sense of purpose.  And Farhad knew this.  He appeared along the designated rally route, including a new sign.  Seemingly inexplicable, he not only directed his message toward the FBI, but also against the hapless, ineffective, corporate democrat, Senator Dick Durbin.
