Leven Kali most recently released his new EP, LK99: The Prelude, via Def Jam Recordings. This project offers a captivating journey into Kali’s unique sound, blending R&B, funk, and electronic elements. The EP sets Leven Kali up for his upcoming album due in the fall. The six-track body of work illuminates the various dimensions and dynamics of Leven’s ever-evolving signature style. Between lively and nostalgic instrumentation, he infuses elements of R&B, soul, pop, rock, and jazz into his own forward-facing sound. While some songs teem with romance and love, others find him opening up more than ever about the current state of the world. On the opener “Blackrock,” a solid foundation of electric guitar underscores his outpour of emotion. A gripping monologue finds him urging, “The CIA already got your mind, now whenever you open your eyes all you see is AI,” before the track culminates on a heartfelt hook. Elsewhere, a funkified groove simmers beneath “In The End.” He reflects on a troubled relationship while singing, “Maybe it’s the drink, maybe it’s the chills, maybe it’s the doctor that gets paid for all your pills.” Then, there’s “Sleepwalking.” His heavenly high register echoes as he draws everyone into the track’s otherworldly trance alongside him, “I’ve been sleepwalking and daydreaming.” Thematically, LK99: The Prelude projects his raw and real story out loud and in vibrant technicolor.

Leven Kali hits the road in Europe supporting his anxiously awaited album set to release in October. he recently wrapped a tour supporting SiR throughout the United States.

The new music continues what is shaping into a breakout 2025 for the rising phenomenon. Earlier this year, he dropped the fan favorites “Are U Still” and “Pieces,” both joined by impressive performance videos. Leven Kali stands out as a multi-GRAMMY®-nominee for his work as a producer and writer on Beyoncé’s Renaissance and COWBOY CARTER. He served as a co-writer on “Alien Superstar,”“Plastic Off the Sofa,” “Virgo’s Groove,” and “Summer Renaissance”, which took home a GRAMMY® for “Best Dance/Electronic Album.”
