Directed by The Alien, the visual lands alongside a growing wave of momentum for ODUMODUBLVCK, following his electrifying City Splash set and a string of chart-smashing releases. “Pity This Boy” has already peaked at No. 2 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart and features on his new mixtape The Machine Is Coming, which debuted at No. 1 in Nigeria and climbed to No. 6 on the UK Hip-Hop Top Albums Chart on Apple Music.
The mixtape, which also includes breakout track “Legolas,” continues ODUMODUBLVCK’s undeniable trajectory, cementing his place as one of the most exciting and uncompromising voices in global rap and Afro-fusion.
ODUMODUBVLCK closed out the year with a string of high-profile international collaborations, appearing on Pa Salieu’s “Big Smile (Pose for Me),” Tobe Nwigwe’s “Can You Imagine” (alongside Jay Electronica and BJ the Chicago Kid), and Afrobeat superstar Davido’s “Funds.” These followed earlier 2024 collabs, including “100 Million” (feat. Tiwa Savage), Rema’s “WAR MACHINE,” and Headie One’s “Purposeful.”
Beyond the studio, ODUMODUBVLCK shut down debut nationwide tours across the US, UK, and Canada, collaborated with Slawn, Soldier Boyfriend, and Ciesay (Places+Faces), and delivered high-energy performances at Skepta’s Big Smoke Festival, Afro Nation Portugal, Germany’s Splash! Festival, and Burna Boy’s historic London Stadium show.
ODUMODUBVLCK first made waves in April 2023 with his breakout single “Declan Rice.” Merging influences from drill, grime, Afrobeat (inspired by Fela Kuti), and progressive R&B, he crafted a unique genre he calls Okporoko Rhythms—a sound that took Nigeria and beyond by storm. His debut mixtape, EZIOKWU, dropped in October and became an instant phenomenon. It debuted at No. 1 on Nigeria’s Top 50 Albums Chart, setting records for most weeks at No. 1 in 2023 and the longest-charting No. 1 album by a rapper on Spotify Nigeria. With over 800 million global streams, EZIOKWU has spent over 50 weeks in Nigeria’s Spotify Top 10, making it the first-ever album by a Nigerian rapper to reach this milestone.
