Sever-The-Bond’s “Hand In All Of This” Delivers Unforgettable Riffs, Grooves and Vibes, by Mark Erickson

According to Sodeh Recordings SODEH Records – YouTube promotional materials from Canada, Sever-The-Bond:

Shatters Metalcore Boundaries with a Mind-Bending Story of Betrayal and Choice, SeverTheBond dives deeper into their gripping saga with “Hand In All Of This,” a powerful metalcore track that picks up the story several chapters after their earlier song “Red Flags.” The narrative follows the protagonist, known only as 11, who wields the mysterious rebel weapon, the “Zero Rose,” while questioning the true intentions of the United Planetary* Alliance. Is 11 merely a pawn in a larger scheme? As tensions rise over the displacement of native Mars 7 residents, the song explores themes of political corruption, personal responsibility, and the cost of dreams turning into unintended consequences. With its intense riffs and emotionally charged vocals, “Hand In All Of This” challenges listeners to consider the price of power and the complexity of choices in a world on the brink of change. Where will 11’s path lead — rebellion or ignorance? The crossroads have never sounded this fierce.

The featured song, “Hand In All of This https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB1NB7oeB78, sent a groove and vibe within its first ten seconds.  Guitar riffage, acceptable degree of incoherent lyrics (not a criticism), and attitude that definitely passed Stage 1.  I listened to four more songs from with not much connection.  In the next stage, Sever-The-Bond shifted 180 degrees to a lush, unexpected tune called “Rather Die.”   Intrigued, I listened to one more…I picked it because it had exactly one view on YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKc8pCSTcX4&list=RDtKc8pCSTcX4&start_radio=1  Now we are dealing with a 90 degree turn.  Whoever makes music as Sever-The-Bond definitely has talent that crosses genres!  Which direction will the band go next?  Go to their website.

At www.severthebond.com, I clicked on the events page, which contained one entry.   The promotion of a “Day Zero” crash, promoted an NYC gig that was nearly a year old.

*In terms of a planetary system and crossroads, Jimi Hendrix has an overlooked tune called “Third Stone From The Sun,” which I appeared on the debut album.  I once found a British live recording of this song from 1967…the lyrics are a bit more decipherable than on the LP.   In this song, Hendrix decided the lack of sufficient intelligent creativity on the third stone should be shunned.

Star fleet to scout ship, please give your position
Over
I’m in orbit around the third planet from the star called the Sun
Over
You mean it’s the Earth? Over
Positive. It is known to have some form of intelligent species. Over
I think we should take a look
Strange beautiful grass of green
With your majestic silver seas
Your mysterious mountains I wish to see closer
May I land my kinky machine?
Strange beautiful grass of green
With your majestic silver seas
Your mysterious mountains I wish to see closer
May I land my kinky machine?
Although your world wonders me
With your majestic and superior cackling hen
Your people, I do not understand
So to you, I shall put an end
And you’ll never hear surf music again
Secret Oh, secret Oh

I think Sever-The-Bond has boundless creativity.  If this conceptual artist and multi-genre musician hit the pavement and came to Chicago, I’d pay for admission…like jazz, not even knowing exactly what I was about to encounter.
