Emma Lindquist channels her inner lioness on the first single from upcoming debut album

After three well-received singles, 28-year-old Danish singer-songwriter Emma Lindquist is now ready to release the first glimpse of her forthcoming debut album ‘Hello tiger, be my friend’ – a record about facing the unknown and finding the courage to follow your heart. The lead single ‘If I met somebody new’ captures the feeling of a deep emotional connection that was never put into words.

Explosive pop with a Lion King twist
‘If I met somebody new’ balances tenderness and raw emotion. Driven by energetic, jungle-like rhythms and a powerful vocal delivery, the track captures the feeling of inner chaos finally being released. Emma herself calls it “Lion King energy” – a blend of harmony and wildness where everything bubbles over. She cites fellow Danish artists eee gee and Lucky Lo as key inspirations.

Emma sees the song as a turning point in both her music and her life. It was written after an experience where she held back from expressing her feelings – and came to regret it.

“It’s time to be brave and embrace love, wildness, and dreams,” she says. The single marks the beginning of giving herself permission to speak out – and let what’s been tamed run free.

A tiger as a companion
The album title ‘Hello tiger, be my friend’ reflects the idea of facing something wild and intimidating – like a tiger – and finding out it might be your ally. It’s a symbol of the personal journey Emma has been on since discovering her sound in atmospheric, emotionally rich productions.

Emma Lindquist (b. 1996) is a Danish singer-songwriter, raised in Dragør and now based in Copenhagen. She began writing songs and playing guitar at age 14 and later earned a journalism degree from Roskilde University. Today, she’s fully committed to music, performing both as a solo artist and with her band ETVA, who recently made it to the finals of KarriereKanonen – a major Danish talent development program supported by national radio.

Emma has performed with Danish rap star Benjamin Hav at Smukfest – one of Denmark’s largest music festivals – and played in the house band for a popular Danish late-night show hosted by comedian Melvin Kakooza. She has also opened for emerging Danish artists like William Torp and Marie Fjeldsted (aka Penny Police). One of her unreleased tracks is featured as the title song in Sommerbarn, a short film by Julie Lindhardt, produced with support from the Danish Film Workshop. The film premiered in February and is currently screening at international festivals.

‘If I met somebody new’ is out on June 20, 2025. The full debut album is expected later this year.
