Yes, our hero Amy has returned.
We loved her years ago when she covered, “Born to Run.” This time she’s back and she’s behind the wheel of a red convertible ’68 Ford Mustang but this highway’s not “jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive.”This lonely road to self-realization is Amy’s alone and it couldn’t be more beautiful or more perfect.
Ever since her 2007 breakthrough, “This is the Life,” Amy’s genius has always been to show us life through the eyes of a tough Glasgow girl who just happened to stumble into the coolest life imaginable. After almost two decades of global stardom Amy recently confessed to the BBC, “18 years and this will never feel normal.”
In that vein, her new tune, “Is This What You’ve Been Waiting For?” has Amy questioning the worth of her awesome musician’s life and the answer seems to be a resounding “Yes!” in the catchiest and most enjoyable way possible. She has told the Glasgow Times the idea came to her during a recent appearance at Glasgow’s TRNSMT festival.
The album “Is This What You’ve Been Waiting For?” will be out July 11. More info is available here: https://www.amymacdonald.co.uk/
