Ken Stringfellow Returns to Portland and Seattle With Supergroup Tears of Silver

Ken Stringfellow is coming to Portland with his new supergroup, Tears of Silver, on Wednesday night, Sept. 27 and to Seattle the following day, Sept. 28. There’s more info at the Facebook event page below. It will be a pop-up all ages show at a location which will only be revealed to ticket holders on the day before the show. Sounds amazing.

Stringfellow describes Tears of Silver as, “a ‘supergroup’ / rolling thunder review / mashup of myself, Mercury Rev, and Jesse Chandler, from Texas’ own Midlake.” He goes on to describe the evening’s entertainment as, “Me doing all that I do — solo, Posies, Big Star and more — and all Mercury Rev does (their first tour in well over a decade in the US) and Jesse’s contributions to Midlake, and his own music. Yep. It’s like getting … 7? 8? bands in one. We have some things we’ve worked up together too…and, to top it off, local singer Jeni Wren is joining us for a few tunes.”

The show has limited tickets available and will take place at a secret location in NE Portland. Due to the sensitive nature of a pop-up show, Tears of Silver will only be revealing the address to ticketholders on the day before the show. They are offering general admission tix, ($30) and VIP tickets where you can sit down with the band for dinner before the show. This is an extremely rare chance to see some of the most acclaimed names in indie rock and have them all to yourselves in an intimate space.

This show is all ages, of course.
