Star of Bob’s Burgers and Archer, H. Jon Benjamin Records Experimental Jazz Album

benjaminBased on his stellar work as the voice of Bob Belcher on Bob’s Burgers (the only show that matters) and Sterling Archer on Archer, it is clear that H. Jon Benjamin is not only the most gifted actor of all time, he is the greatest human on the planet since the passing of Mother Teresa.

And now this mastermind of comic communication has turned to the 88 black and white keys to express his genius. Titled, Well, I Should Have…Learned How to Play Piano, Benjamin’s new album expands the already wide horizons of jazz immensely. Though it’s true he never learned to play piano, just listen as he bangs out a fine album nonetheless. Marvel as he generates mellifluous accidental sounds, jumping in and shining with the band despite zero musical knowledge or talent. He calls his performance, “Real, Untapped Un-Talent.”

Below is an interview he did with NPR. Through it you can get a real feel for the project. Below that is his version of the deathless standard, “It Had to be You.”
