Slim Wray – Take It Or Leave It, by Paul Johnson

slimwrayHow fricken cool was it to open up the video file of Slim Wray’s “Take it or Leave it”?! About as cool as pulling an unlabeled can from the cup board, popping the seal and finding out it’s full of “Hell Yeah”. If that analogy doesn’t reach you, maybe you could imagine releasing a squirrel on speed from a shoe box that you thought had shoes in it, or some sort of madness like that.

My reaction was “let’s trash this place” but I was in my bedroom and had recently cleaned. So I moved on to maybe taking a dump, as it was Sunday morning and that’s my Sunday morning right as an American, but I didn’t want to move my laptop or end the song. Then I thought about chopping up a “B” vitamin and snorting it, you know just going for it. Ummm… song was over. So I listened to it again. And again. Whew. Be right back… got some paperwork to do.

Alrighty then. Moving on to “The Way I get By“. There is a pattern here. The pattern is about sonic force, life force if you will– vibrations. The kind of vibration’s that make you tap your feet, swing your hiney (rhymes with “piney” and is apparently not a word.) Otherwise thrust your pelvis like a horny chihuahua looking for a shin bone. I think you smell what I’m cooking.

I recommend Slim Wray’s new EP Post no Bills. It rocks, they rock. Good job. Thanks for putting your energy out there. Hope you are richly rewarded with free drinks and heaping piles of whatever floats your boat.
