220px-Richard_Hell_3_by_David_Shankbone_croppedSeattle writer Chris Estey will chat with Richard Hell, a true King of Punk, live on stage Thursday, March 21, at the Rendezvous in Seattle (2322 2nd Avenue) at 7 PM as part of a show promoted by the University Bookstore.

Richard Hell has a new book out called I Dreamed I Was A Very Clean Tramp: An Autobiography. Hell was an early zine punk poet (with Tom Verlaine), was a vital original part of Television (ditto), inspired Malcolm McLaren to scruff up his boy band the Sex Pistols, was one of the first artists on Stiff Records, was leader of the incredible Voidoids, and still writes like a fornicator on fire.

Amongst many other notable accomplishments, Chris Estey has presented live interviews with Steve Ignorant (CRASS), David Yow (Jesus Lizard) and Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) at the Comet Tavern, has appeared in a film with Calvin Johnson (Have You Ever Had A Beard?) and written liner notes with Nick Cave for the Karen Dalton In My Own Time reissue on Light In The Attic Records.
